Some of the most prevalent memories of my childhood are fads. They were very crazy in the 90’s. When there was a new fad everyone had to be part of it. There were toys, shoes, and of course video games along with trading cards, and of course TV shows.

For toys, I remember gigapets and tamagotchis. Everyone had these and they would walk around with these virtual pets everywhere, because Gigapets were in the form of watches, and Tamagotchis were key chains they were very portable. I remember I used to get so mad because mine would always die and my brother’s would always get big and strong. Of course, it was just a fad and didn't last too long.

There were so many shoes in the nineties. One of the craziest ones was the Reebok Pumps. You would essentially pump air into these shoes and they would increase your jumping power.

Video games and trading card games dominated the nineties. There was pokemon, a trading card game and video game franchise. Everyone collected the cards and played the games. Grownups couldn't pronounce Pokemon, they would say pac-man, pokemans, po-mans, and all sorts of crazy things.

cartoons on tvI used to love watching cartoons as a child. Until a few years ago cartoons used to come on everyday.

I used to love watching Magic School Bus. It was about Mrs. Frizzle and her class going on scientific adventures with the help of a magic school bus, which could do pretty much anything. Another show that I enjoyed when I was younger was Digimon. Which was a show about kids who got sucked into a digital world where they had digital monster sidekicks who fought battles for them. Dragonball Z was the best show, it was about a guy named Goku who was an alien from another planet, he had super strength, speed, he could fly, and shoot energy blasts. He fought along side another guy like him named Vegeta, and many others. Everyone that I knew watched X-men, a how based off a comic, about a group of mutants blessed with super powers that fought evil.

Those were the good old days. Too bad I don’t watch those types of shows anymore. Come on, Pokemon I laugh that many people actually used to watch that show. That goes to show that it was just a fad.
