The illustrator, Clement Hurd, “hid” a mouse on practically every page of Goodnight Moon for the reader to find. It’s very excited to find the mouse on every page. Summary: Emily, USA Goodnight Moon is a children’s bedtime story written by Margaret Wise Brown, and illustrated by Clement Hurd. The book is about a little bunny rabbit getting ready for bed by saying goodnight to everything in his room. It is told in poem form and starts out with a description of everything in the bunny’s green room, such as a telephone, a picture of a cow jumping over the moon, a pair of mittens, and a little mouse. The bunny then begins saying goodnight to everything in his room also including a red balloon, two little kittens, a little toy house, and a quiet old lady whispering “hush.” At this point the rabbit falls asleep. Goodnight Moon has been a children’s classic for over 50 years and is still read by parents to sleepy kids everywhere. |
